Semana 57: Surprise Blessings

This week was pretty A-okay. We had interviews with our mission president (which is always an adventure) and learned some things, and then on Sunday we had a miracle.

Throughout the week we had invited a ton of people to come to church with us but in the end only two families had confirmed that they'd go. So we made plans to meet up with them and go to church together. One of the families lives in the other side of our area from the church, which is about an hour away walking. So on Sunday we left early and walked and walked, but when we got to the home of the first family they said that the mom had been called in to work at the last minute and that they couldn't go. So that was kinda sad. And when we finally got to the other house (the one that was super ridiculously far away) we were super excited. But then we got there and it turned out that they were dead asleep.

So we were kinda bummed out and started the long lonely trip to church. We were planning on getting a ride with the family but that didn't end up happening. We were walking fast almost running to make it to church on time when God showed His love for us. A car stopped and offered a ride. Turned out that it was a less active couple who hadn't been to church in two years, who were going that day and happened to pass us when we were really needing a ride.

Even though we weren't able to bring anyone to church, some members had brought a friend and referred her to us. And when we went to teach her later that day, we met the person most ready for the gospel that I've met in my life. She's super cool. Various family members of hers are members (with varying degrees of activity) and her cousin left to serve a mission (he leaves the MTC this week! Woo hoo!) and it was really a miracle to meet her when our day started out so low.

Em fim, God loves His children and really wants us to be happy. He hopes that we have the patience to accept His will instead of trying to pridefully wander through life doing our own thing. But when we do our best and show God that we're willing to work and to do what He wants us to do, He will perform miracles.

Amo Deus. Sei que Ele vive e que Ele ainda trabalha em nossas vidas. Sou muita grata por poder esperar viver com Ele um dia. Sou grata por poder servir como missionária e pelas experiências estou tendo que confirmam isto. (I love God. I know that he lives and that He still works in our lives. I am very grateful to be able to hope to live with God one day. I am grateful to be able to serve as a mission and for the experiences I am having that confirm this.)

Here's the super sweet Nativity video the Church made. If you haven't seen it yet (or even if you have) it'll brighten your day!

I think that's it. Love you guys!
