Thank you for choosing Riberão Pires, Sao Paulo, Brasil for your upcoming trip! We hope you will enjoy your experience.
Here in Brasil you will be treated to dazzling sunsets, delicious food, and vibrant culture. You will be sure to enjoy the gorgeous colors on the houses, and the energy of the people who live in them. Here the people are so kind, perfect strangers will offer you jackfruit (and they´re so kind, they won´t let you say no!). You can see children frolicking everywhere, and for a kid growing up in Brasil, a kite is a necessity. Join the birds with your very own kite! In your United States, do you have roads that run at a 45 degree angle? No? Here, we have whole neighborhoods of fun, steep hills to play on. And of course, the food is so good that even vegetarians will eagerly join the churrascões and never look back... or at least, they will be able to eat it without dying. The food is wonderful and surprisingly diverse (rice and beans is only the beginning).
Do you love the game Charades? Then you will love Brasil. At the beginning of your trip you will be matched with a unique travel companion native to Brasil who will not speak a word of English, to assist in the full immersion experience. They will be super patient and will always be up to play a hearty game of Charades or Race To Find The Word In The Dictionary. Remember to look up helpful phrases before your visit, like these:
Hi! We´re missionaries ~ Oi! Nos somos missionarias!
Sorry, I don´t speak Portuguese very well ~ Desculpa, eu não falo Português muito bem
My feet are about to turn into dust and fall off due to all the walking ~ (I don´t actually know this one and it haunts me)
Want to get away from all the commercialism of Christmas? Yet another perk of Brasil is the casual, personal celebration of Christ. Don´t bother setting up lights or trees (unless, of course, you have young children), just smile at a stranger and say Feliz Natal. No fuss, no muss!
So in conclusion, Brasil is wonderful and despite the challenge of learning a new language, it is well worth it. The people are friendly and many are willing to share a message about Christ.
Feliz Natal! I love you all and miss you. Merry Christmas!
