Semana 54

So this week happened. Honestly it was kind of uneventful except that we had transfers, so we're chuggin' along getting used to a new companion. Her name is Sister Garcês and is from Manaus, Amazonas (which I thought meant that she lived in the middle of the Amazon rainforest and probably had a pet snake but it turns out that it's actually pretty developed there. She lives in the city where they have skyscrapers (not just treehouses) and seems pretty cool). She's got 8 months in the mission, but all of her past areas have been in the city part of the mission, whereas I've spent my entire mission in ABC (which is more suburb-y).

Aside from that, not a ton happened. Katia and her family were confirmed (except Kaiky (the really tall one) who wasn't feeling well that day). It rained some. Sunday we put the phone on silent mode for church and then forgot to turn the sound back on, and so after we didn't answer the phone the whole day long the LZs came to our house 10:00 at night with a friendly member to make sure we were, in fact, alive.

That's it. My brother translated a song my aunt did to Portuguese, even though he has like two months here in Brasil. It's pretty cool. I'll attach it here because I liked it. Original is here

Descansai
(E Com Meu Pai Vós Vivereis)

Em cada hora_o Salvador eu conheci
Embora faça erros que_Ele ama sei
Às vezes é difícil encontrar felicidade
Mas todas suas palavras são verdade:

Consolo dou nas aflições enquanto vós me pesquisais
Descansai, descansai
Vos guio_ao lar celeste, o preço mal eu já paguei
Descansai, e com Meu Pai, vós vivereis.

(en)Tão cada noite, prá Ele vou na oração
E sinto Ele perto_a mim no coração
Seus braços dão consolo e_o Espírito traz paz
Aquilo que_Ele diz feliz me faz:

Consolo dou nas aflições enquanto vós me pesquisais
Descansai, descansai
Vos guio_ao lar celeste, o preço mal eu já paguei
Descansai, e com Meu Pai, vós vivereis.

Ele para_a tempestade, me enchia com caridade,
Esperando para mim a receber felicidade

Consolo dou nas aflições enquanto vós me pesquisais
Descansai, descansai
Vos guio_ao lar celeste, o preço mal eu já paguei
Descansai, e com Meu Pai, vós vivereis.
Descansai, e com Meu Pai, vós vivereis.

Love y'all, miss y'all, that's all. Have a week
